Wild Things

Here’s my freshly finished piece, “Wild Things”, my homage to the excellent book/film “Where the Wild Things Are”. I’ve started creating this as a portfolio update, turns out it made me realize how much I love this property. Also, thinking about sorta young adult kind of illustration is quite refreshing, makes me realize I should pursue more of this eventually.

My daughter, Aurora, made some of her characters drawings over this - I’ve saved a special version of the piece with her interventions, and also incorporated her drawing into the “Inkheart” book cover our (now kinda pre-teen hero) Max is reading. Oh damn, I love Inkheart - may I approach it too, and give it my own spice?

I’ll most probably create an exclusive short workshop video out of this artwork, for my @Patreon. As a start for more and bigger stuff, down the year. What do you think? I’m eager to experiment with some formats for the narration and such.

Hope you enjoy it! I’ve chosen to make this painting as a homage to my kid, who’s been on her own journey about discovering her emotions and learning how to deal with them, just like Max.
